Disproportionate burden
We have not assessed the cost of fixing the navigation issues with our online events calendar. We may do so in the future. We're currently not planning to fix these, as the fix would require rebuilding the calendar component, which would be a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations for a parish council of our size.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. Any new PDFs or documents we publish will meet accessibility standards, or an accessible alternative version will be made available alongside the original.
Maps
This website embeds third-party maps (for example to show the location of council offices, polling stations or community facilities). Online maps are exempt from the accessibility regulations under Part 1, Section 4(2)(c). Where a map shows essential information (such as a meeting venue), we provide that information in text form alongside or beneath the map so it remains accessible to everyone.
Live video streams
This website occasionally includes live video streams — for example livestreamed council meetings. Live audio and video are exempt from the accessibility regulations under Part 1, Section 4(2)(b). Where possible we publish minutes or an accessible written summary of the meeting after the event.
